New Orleans, LA (April 7th, 2023) – Crescent City FC (CCFC) is excited to announce Lafreniere Park as the club’s new home venue for the 2023 season. Lafreniere Park, located in the heart of Metairie, is home to two state of the art FIFA certified turf fields. Completed in 2021, the facility was made possible due to a collaborative effort between Jefferson Parish and the Louisiana Fire Soccer Club. The partnership was built around the attempt to attract more visitors to the park by hosting additional matches and practices, from various leagues and tournaments, that will be an economic driver to that area of Metairie.
“There is no better playing surface than Lafreniere’s facility in the city at the moment.” said Jonathan Rednour, President of CCFC. “We are very appreciative of Holy Cross for giving us a home for our first few seasons. It was a hard decision to leave a great venue, but it came down to wanting to give our players and competitors a proper surface to compete on.”
As a community club committed to developing the sport in the Greater New Orleans area, CCFC is constantly seeking new and innovative ways to enhance the experience of its players and fans. The club has promised it will be bringing the same atmosphere it created at Holy Cross to Lafreniere Park and expects an even better match day experience for its supporters.
“Nothing changes for us on how we create an environment around our games.” added Rednour.
In addition to announcing the new home venue, CCFC is happy to announce its collaboration with CICADA, a leading multidisciplinary design firm based in New Orleans, to help bring the club’s new home field venue and vision to life.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with CICADA for the 2023 season,” said Rednour. “Their expertise in design and technology has helped us to create a truly exceptional experience for our players and fans, and we look forward to continually working together to achieve our future planning goals.”
CICADA will be the club’s home field sponsor and will be presented on the front of the home kits for the 2023 season.
“We have been excited to collaborate with CCFC for the kickoff of the 2023 season,” said Paulo Perkins from CICADA. “As a multidisciplinary design firm, we thrive on a diversity of design challenges, and that has been no different working with CCFC on this project. We utilized our master planning expertise along with our drone, and rendering services to provide the appropriate content for Jonathan and his team to layout the most efficient and compelling use of space for this years schedule.”
