Satsuma, AL (June 5th) – On a rainy evening in Satsuma, AL, just north of Mobile, Crescent City would square up with Mobile United, wrapping up the NOLA crew’s three road game stretch.
Much like gloomy rainy evenings bringing about a sense of lethargy, the start of this contest would make it seem every player on the pitch just woke up from their afternoon rainy day cat nap. While both teams seemed to feel each other out, keeping possession with minimal direct attacks, the game did start to open up a bit in the 15th minute after a CCFC chance from Josey Portillo would ring the crossbar. Throughout the remaining 30 minutes of the first half, Crescent City would have 9 shots in total, with only 1 being on frame. Mobile United recorded 2 shots that were of no concern to CCFC keeper, Jacob Randolph. The half would end 0-0.
The second half would offer a more entertaining game with both clubs coming out with a better sense of urgency. Mobile would have the first real chance of the game in the 53rd minute, forcing keeper, Jacob Randolph, to keep the clean sheet. The New Orleans side would get on the board in the 64th minute after a threading the needle pass from Taxco would find Chuy at the top of the 18, who would bury it to put the boys ahead 1-0. The second goal would come in the 78th minute from the man of the match, Mesa Muminovic, who offered a much needed spark after subbing on in the 65th minute. The contest would end 2-0 for the boys in blue.
Crescent City FC will play Gulf Coast Rangers at Holy Cross Field (5500 Paris Ave. – New Orleans) on June 12th for 7:15 PM kickoff. Tickets and season passes for CCFC home games can be purchased here.
