Crescent City FC signs veteran defender Anthony Peters as first ever player

New Orleans, LA – (March 13th) Crescent City FC are excited to announce the signing of defender Anthony Peters as the first ever CCFC player. The 36 year old veteran started his professional career being drafted by MLS’ DC United in 2009, and has spent a good amount of his career playing in the USL with his last season being in 2016 with the Tulsa Roughnecks.

“I’m really excited to be joining Crescent City FC” said Peters. “I feel I have a lot left to offer in this game, and the direction that Crescent City is heading makes me feel I have the ability to continue playing the game I love at a great level.”

The 6’6 Baton Rouge native has spent his career primarily as a centerback and is known for his stature and physicality on the back line.

“We are very excited to have Anthony joining us!” said CCFC Head Coach, Danny Free. “I had the pleasure of seeing Anthony play last season and was very excited to hear he was in talks with the club when I was brought on. I think he will bring a level of professionalism to the club that will elevate everyone’s game.”

Supporters will get a first chance to see Anthony in action for our inaugural Gulf Coast Premier League season this summer. More information on season passes and tickets are soon to follow.
