New Orleans, LA – (February 12th) Crescent City FC has added an after season friendly versus independent pro club, Chattanooga Football Club. The contest will take place at Finely Stadium in Chattanooga, TN on August 1st (7:30PM Est).
“We’re very excited about the opportunity to share the field with such a storied club” said club General Manager Jonathan Rednour. “As we’re trying to jump start our own grassroots approach here in New Orleans, developing a relationship with clubs like CFC will only benefit us and our approach on giving our city a true independent club culture.”
Chattanooga FC were established in 2009 and have steadily set the bar for independent soccer clubs in the US. Chattanooga currently competes in the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA), a recently sanctioned Division III pro league entering its first spring season.
“CFC has been at the forefront for independent club success and have become a great model for other clubs, like ourselves, to try and emulate.” Rednour added.
Crescent City FC announced its plans for an exciting 2020 in early January and adding Chattanooga FC to the schedule will surely be a great test for the young club.
“It is exciting for us to see some fresh new teams coming into Finley” said Jeremy Alumbaugh, Managing Director, Chattanooga FC. “Crescent City is a club that is on a very similar path to CFC and we are pleased to help them continue and find their way through the soccer landscape in the United States. Adding this match to our schedule gives everyone another reason to be anxious for the 2020 season to begin.”
