CCFC come up short on securing league title versus Louisiana Krewe

New Orleans, LA – (December 15th) Sunday’s contest versus Lafayette side, Louisiana Krewe, saw CCFC suffer their first defeat on the season and in club history.

The first half started with the Louisiana Krewe buzzing, pinning the home squad into their own half with very few offensive advantages being given. Louisiana Krewe’s, Quesi Weston, proved to be a thorn in CCFC’s side since the initial kickoff and his persistence paid off in the 21st minute, putting the away side up 1-0.

Crescent City would get one back before heading into stoppage time in the first half with a brilliant cross from Grant Guthrie and even better volley and finish from New Orleans’ native, Ashton Perkins, sending both teams tied into the half.

Ashton Perkins advances towards Krewe goal in first half.

The second half began with the same intensity, but offered very little excitement for the home crowd as the Krewe staid steady and true, extending their lead to 4-1 and earning the title for the GCPL Fall Tournament Showcase.

This game concludes the fall season. More info for 2021 plans will follow.
